How Credits Work

Trev uses a credit-based system for translations. Understanding credits helps you manage your usage effectively.

Credit Basics

• 1 credit = 1,000 characters
• Characters include letters, numbers, spaces, and punctuation
• Credits are deducted based on source document character count
• Translating to multiple languages uses the same credits

Monthly Credits

• Reset on your billing date each month
• Unused credits do not roll over
• Track usage in real-time from your dashboard

Bonus Credits

• Purchased separately as top-ups
• Never expire
• Used after monthly credits are exhausted
• Perfect for occasional high-volume needs

Character Counting

Characters are counted from your source document:

• All visible text
• Spaces and line breaks
• Special characters and symbols
• Headers, footers, and footnotes

Monitoring Usage

• Real-time usage display in header
• Detailed breakdown in dashboard
• Email alerts at 80% and 100% usage
• Usage history in account settings
